Through the debate on reforming health insurance for small businesses, an important piece of information was missing: Policymakers had little data on why only some young companies offer their employees health insurance. Common sense and much research indicate that cost plays a big role in business owners’ health insurance decisions. Why do some entrepreneurs choose to incur this cost while others do not?

Back in March, Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, which in 2014 will require all Americans to have health insurance or pay a penalty. Although many people would now like to put discussion of employer health insurance behind them, the question of why only some founders of small businesses offer insurance remains an important one. Its answer will influence how much of a role government will play in providing employee health insurance for years to come.

One part of the new law is a set of tax credits and penalties designed to encourage employers to provide insurance.The problem is that for most young small businesses, it won’t work.That’s the conclusion I reached, based on research I conducted with Alicia Robb of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.We examined the decisions of founders of young companies on whether or not to offer health insurance, using information from the Kauffman Firm Survey, which tracks a cohort of nearly 5,000 new businesses started in 2004.

The data show that very few new businesses offer employee health insurance. Nearly two-thirds of companies with employees did not offer employee health insurance at any time during their first five years of operation. Moreover, only one in five offered insurance to their workers in all of the years.
insurance: no performance benefits

The few young small businesses that offered health insurance differed dramatically from those that didn’t: They tended to be larger and higher-paying, structured as partnerships and corporations, and they offered their employees a wide variety of benefits. Most young businesses don’t fit this profile. The majority are sole proprietorships with few, modestly paid employees. Only a handful of young companies grow dramatically. A minority shift from sole proprietorships to other legal structures. Few ever add a lot of benefits. This means that only a small portion of young small businesses are health-insurance-providing types. Most are not.

One argument that’s often made to justify giving employees health insurance is that doing so helps companies perform better. Those that offer employee health insurance, the argument goes, get better and harder-working employees. We examined whether the provision of employee health insurance provides any performance benefits to young companies. We found that it does not.

Controlling for a variety of other firm and founder characteristics, we saw no significant effect from providing employee health insurance on firm survival, growth in assets, growth in sales, growth in profits, or growth in employment during the first five years of operation. Stated differently, offering employee health insurance doesn’t appear to do anything to improve the performances of young companies, despite what some observers argue. We shouldn’t claim that the new law will benefit small business owners by making their companies more successful.
low-paying, sole proprietorships

The data offer three key takeaways for policymakers. First, only a minority of new businesses offer health insurance to employees, even by age five. Fewer still move from not offering insurance to providing it. When thinking about how to manage small business health insurance, policymakers need to keep in mind that offering insurance isn’t something that young companies naturally evolve to do as they mature. Consequently, most of the employees at new businesses that don’t offer health insurance will need to be covered by government programs and state exchanges.

Second, new companies that don’t offer insurance tend to be smaller, lower-paying, sole proprietorships with a large share of part-time workers. These offer employees limited benefits. Policy makers need to recognize that offering employee health insurance is something that fits certain kinds of new companies and not others. Small business owners who don’t offer employee health insurance aren’t being heartless. They are responding to the economics of the industries they are in and the business models they are pursuing.

Third, offering employee health insurance doesn’t improve the financial performance of new companies. Policymakers need to understand that despite the many reasons why they want the founders of all businesses to offer health insurance to employees, requiring that entrepreneurs provide such insurance won’t benefit many of the business owners.

Hundreds of thousands of new businesses with employees are founded in the U.S. every year. Few of these companies are large enough, pay enough, or are structured in a way that would lead them to offer employee health insurance. Moreover, few will turn into businesses that provide health care coverage to their workers. As a consequence, most of the several million workers hired by young businesses annually will be getting their insurance from government programs and state exchanges for years to come.

Menstrual disorders in adolescents: Adolescence is the time when there is an abrupt change in the body and many questions arise in the minds of teenagers. Firstly they are not able to cope with changes and changes in second place to bring problems with them. The most challenging problems are related to menstruation in girls. Menstrual are many conditions that may require the attention of the physician or other health care. The most common menstrual disorders are premenstrual syndrome, and amenorrhea Dysmenorrheal.

Before the onset of menstruation, many women uncomfortable symptoms that last for a short period, stretching from a few hours a few days. But some of them can be very intense and can disturb the normal functioning of the person. These symptoms are grouped as premenstrual syndrome. In normal cases, the symptoms come to a halt menstruation, when the first, but for some it can last even after the menstrual periods are over. Eighty-five percent of women experience some symptoms of premenstrual syndrome at one time or another. Nearly forty percent experience symptoms so intensely that their daily affairs are affected by it and ten percent are disabled by it.

There are many pre-menstrual syndrome symptoms that can be broadly classified as neurological and vascular symptoms, psychological symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms, fluid retention, eye problems and breathing problems. The cause of premenstrual syndrome are fluctuations in the levels of progesterone and estrogen, hypoglycemia, hyperprolactinemia, psychogenic factors, changes in carbohydrate metabolism, excessive aldosterone, progesterone allergy and water retention by the kidney. The good thing is that premenstrual syndrome can be prevented by regular exercise, balanced diet, eat and sleep properly.

Dysmenorrheal is feeling intense pain and menstrual cramps. Depending on the severity, Dysmenorrheal is indicated as primary Dysmenorrheal or secondary Dysmenorrheal. Dysmenorrheal symptoms arise from the onset of menstrual periods and are felt throughout life. Due to abnormal uterine contractions due to chemical imbalance, severe menstrual cramping is experienced. Secondary Dysmenorrheal begins in the later stages. The causes are different for primary and secondary Dysmenorrheal. Dysmenorrheal can be attributed to medical conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease, tumors, infections and abnormal pregnancy.

Dysmenorrheal symptoms are lower abdomen cramping and pain, lower back pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, fainting, weakness and headaches. Women who are overweight, smoke, and have started to menstruate before turning eleven are at greater risk of developing Dysmenorrheal. Women who drink alcohol during menstrual period experience prolonged pain. After studying the conditions of health, age, cause of Dysmenorrheal, and extent of the condition of the individual, corresponding treatment will be recommended. Regular exercise, abdominal massage, hot bath, vitamin supplements and dietary modifications can help overcome Dysmenorrheal.

Amenorrhea is the condition in which the female skips her menses for more than three consecutive menstrual cycles. Amenorrhea is also classified as primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea develops from the onset of menstrual periods. In this condition, the teen can not get periods when she enters puberty. Secondary amenorrhea is a condition where periods become irregular after a period of time and not from the beginning.

There are many causes of amenorrhea, such as ovulation abnormality, eating disorders, birth defects, anatomical abnormalities, malnutrition, anorexia, bulimia, pregnancy, during exercise, thyroid disorders, obesity and other medical conditions. These ovulation abnormalities are a common cause for the absence or irregular periods. It is a duty that an adolescent start getting menses at least by the age of sixteen. If not, anatomical abnormality, birth defects and other medical conditions are the cause. Teens that participate actively in sports and are athletic have a lower body fat because of what they have absent menses. Yet because of malnutrition, the body is unable to sustain pregnancy. Then turn the body itself shuts down the reproductive system and menstruation. Extra fat cell in the body interferes with ovulation and that is the reason why obese women have irregular menstruation. Amenorrhea is treated by dietary modifications, ovulation inhibitors and hormone treatment.

Since the days of old, women have been the target of a lot of attention in the lives of societies. In old Greek, Roman, and Indian societies, the status of women was poor. They did not enjoy the same legal rights as men. They were outcast and looked at with contempt. The famous Indian leader Jawaharlal Nehru says in his book The Discovery of India:

The legal status of women in the Laws of Manu was poor and doubtful.

In Medieval times the humanness and constitution of women was subject of doubt; it was questionable whether they had souls like men or not? Or whether theirs were like animal souls. Some philosophers of Rome went even further and declared that women had no souls and will not be resurrected in the Hereafter with men.

As for Arabs before Islam, their attitude was something else; they thought of women as a potential source of disgrace. A man hated to beget a female. Some men even went so far as to get rid of a newly born female by burying her alive at birth.

The French Revolution, considered by many world thinkers as a positive historical turning point in the stream of human life and seen as a cultural lighthouse in contemporary history, gave freedom to men, but not to women. Article 1 of its Declaration of Human Rights says, â??Men are born and remain free.â? Thus, it is quite clear that a woman had no place in the world of freedom. When some French intellectuals tried to rectify this serious flaw, the majority reacted with contempt and scorn. When a French lady called Docourge submitted to the French national assembly a draft resolution that holds women equal to men, her proposal was rejected and she was tried and beheaded, according to Dr. George Jabour in his book Al ‘Arab wa Huqooq Al-Insaan (Arabs and Human Rights).

French scholar Gustave Le Bon declares in his book the Spirit of Sociality in response to advocates of equality between men and women:

” Women were equal to men only in times of decadence “

The U.N. Charter, which was meant to correct the injustice and contempt towards women committed by the French Revolution, certainly represented a turning point in human history and a bright dawn in the horizon, giving hope to successive generations in human communities. Yet, the share of women in that charter was scant and did not meet their ambitions or fit their status. It did not accord women the same degree of attention and honor that it gave to men. It makes no more than two references to women, both casual, and in subordinate clauses which display no special concern for women and their status.

The first reference is in the Charterâ??s preamble, which expresses the determination of the peoples of the United Nations â??to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small.â? The second reference is in paragraph c of Article 76, which says that â??the basic objectives of the trusteeship system â?¦ shall be â?¦ to encourage respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion.â?

Later, explanatory bylaws of the Charter emptied even these modest statements of their content as regards the dignity and social status of women, and turned them into a source of misery and harm for women, reducing their rights and dignity. These bylaws

1.     declare equality between man and woman in rights and duties, without consideration of any distinction or of the distinctive characteristics of the latter;

2.     burden women with heavy and numerous tasks that are incompatible with feminine nature and contrary to the great human mission of women;

3.     adopt disgraceful concepts of the family, the values of family ties, and the responsibilities of family performance, which weakens the role of women in the family structure and cancel their noble mission in the stable social structure;

4.     endorse the principle of multiple family types and cancel the values and controls of joint man and woman responsibility in building a stable interactive family, thus creating chaos and disorder in the family with consequent, uncountable social problems, one of the most serious of which is the creation of a generation with no sense of belonging or responsibility, with a resulting increase in the rates of crime and serious diseases, which threaten the security and civilized future of human communities;

5. Permits all types of sexual relations, which amounts to a repulsive aggression against the dignity of women, contempt of their femininity and humanness, and a stark and audacious ravishment of their rights.

This, in short, is the tragic and horrifying position of women in the standards of ancient and contemporary cultures and civilizations. Unfortunately, women are still abused and marginalized in most human societies, although divine religions, particularly Islam, emphasize womenâ??s dignity and basic role in the walks of life.

Islam in particular has laid firm foundations for the dignity and social status of women within the context of its view of the universe, mankind, and life. Islamâ??s profound view of the relationship of the three worlds â?? the universe, mankind, and life â?? is based on a belief that the wisdom of God, the Most Sublime, dictates that the whole universe be structured in accordance with the principle of the mating of pairs, each of which is complementary rather than identical.

Exalted is He who created all pairs from what the earth grows, from themselves, and from what you do not know (Yaseen XXXVI: 36).

God, the Most Exalted, made the trait of immortal singleness that has no need to be complemented by any thing else an exclusive quality of His.

Say: â??He is God, the One and only, â?? God, the Eternal; â?? He begets none, nor is He begotten, â?? and there is nothing that could be compared to Him (Al-Ikhlas CXII: 1 â?? 4).

He, the Most Exalted, has no need for a partner, whether equal or inferior to Him. He, the Most Glorious, is Self-Sufficient and Most-Exalted and has no one that is similar or equal to Him,

God: there is no deity but Him, the Ever-Living, the Eternal Master of all. (Al-Baqarah II: 255).

There is nothing like Him, and He hears all and sees all (Al-Shoora XLII: 11).

When I speak of complementarity rather than similarity in reference to the principle of mating, I should point out that Godâ??s wisdom dictates this complementarity and scientific laws, and applications support and confirm it. There is no mating of identical things; they rather stand in opposition and repulsion of each other. This can be seen in the smallest structured unit in the universe, which is the atom. Recent scientific discoveries indicate that even a neutron, a particle within an atom, is made of two opposite, disparate poles, which confirms the inimitability of the Creation, which is based on the mating of complementary, rather than identical, elements. Full similarity is a cause of opposition and repulsion.

Had there been deities in them [heaven or on earth] other than God, they would have fallen into ruin! Exalted is God, Lord of the Throne, above what they attribute to Him! (Al-Anbiya XXI: 22).

God said, â??Do not take [for worship] two deities, for He is but one God. Hence, of Me alone stand in aweâ? (Al-Nahl XVI: 51).

I believe that the issue of complementarity and identicalness and the difference between them is an essential turning point in understanding the spirit of man/woman relationship. It is also an objective and equitable approach to understand the complementarity of their responsibilities in the fields of life.

Moreover, the principle of complementarity explains and clarifies the question of differentiation between woman and man. Each of them has superior points and inferior points, and neither of them is definitely superior to the other. Each is superior in what God prefers him or her over the other.

Men are guardians of women, because of the advantage He has given some of them over the others and because of what they spend of their wealth (Al-Nisaa IV: 34).

Do not covet the things by which God has favored some of you over others. Men are entitled to a share of what they earn, and women are similarly entitled. Therefore, ask God to give you out of His bounty. God is a witness of everything (Ibid: 32).

The question guardianship, which some use as an excuse to abuse the dignity of women and reduce their humanness and their status, is, the way I understand it, by no means an advantage for men and cannot be included in the standards of definite superiority. It is merely an administrative, conditional arrangement. Each of the two, the woman and the man, is superior to the other by what God, the Most Sublime, has favored him or her over the other and by the abilities God has given him or her and not the other. Each of the two is a guardian within the framework of his specialization and responsibilities, within the context of the general approach of Islam and the context of the values, rules, and controls of Islamic Law. I can say here that there are two types of guardianship, a particular type and a general one. Each of the two, man and woman, has a guardianship within the advantage and abilities that God, the Most Sublime, has favored him or her with. As for general guardianship, it has to go to one of the two in order for their relationship and cooperation to be smooth. â??Had there been deities in them other than God, they would have fallen into ruin!â? The noble Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, commands: â??If you are three, choose one of you as a leader.â? All this falls within the framework of the general divine principle of mutual support between them, which is expressed in the words of God, the Most Sublime:

Male and female believers are supporters of each other; they enjoin what is good and forbid what is wrong. They perform prayers, give out zakat, and obey God and His Messenger. Those are the ones who will receive Godâ??s mercy. God is Almighty and Wise (Al-Tawbah IX: 71).

Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with him and his father says:

I have heard Godâ??s Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, say, â??Indeed each of you is a shepherd, and each is responsible for his flock. The ruler of people is a shepherd, responsible for his flock. A man in his house is a shepherd, responsible for his flock. A woman in her husbandâ??s house is a shepherd, responsible for her flock. A servant in his/her masterâ??s house is a shepherd, responsible for his/her flock. Indeed each of you is a shepherd, and each is responsible for his flock.â?[1]

I find that these two quotations, the verse from the Noble Qur’an and the Prophetâ??s tradition, amount, combined, to a clear view of the complementarity of man and woman, each to the extent of his/her abilities and responsibilities. There is no trace of and no reference to any sense of moral differentiation between them. Each of them supports the other with the qualifications, qualities, and skills God has given him/her or he/she has acquired.

God will raise in position those of you who believe and are given knowledge. God knows what you do (Al-Mujaadilah LVIII: 11).

Say, â??Are they equal, those who know and those who do not?â? It is only those with understanding that remember (Al-Zumar XXXIX, 9).

All this has to be in accordance with the rules, values, and controls legislated by God, the Most Sublime, and His Messenger. These rules, values, and controls govern the man-woman relationship and manage it in accordance with Godâ??s Will and His pleasure, blessed are His names.

In the year 2000, we, at the Islamic World Conference in Jeddah, received a delegation of U.S. women, headed by Mrs. Gina Abercrombie-Win Stanley, who was then an advisor of President Clinton, a member of the U.S. Security Council, and Head of the Office of Asian and Southeast Asian Affairs at the State Department. Later she became the U.S. General Consul in Jeddah. The delegation was interested in two subjects, (1) women and (2) democracy.

Our discussion of the woman question, which is related to the subject of this chapter, began with a question made by Mrs. Abercrombie-Win Stanley, who said, â??We tried to find out by ourselves the position of women in Islam, but were not able to. We sought assistance from Arab and Muslim friends, but the information was contradictory. Therefore, we decided to visit Muslim lands and hear directly Muslimâ??s views of this question. You at the Islamic World Conference and Dr. Hamid in particular, have been recommended to us, for a dialogue concerning this matter. So what do you have to say, Sir?â?

After expressions of welcome, gratitude, and appreciation, I said, â??I have one word, or rather one sentence, to say. If it meets what you want, we will thus have a short cut. Otherwise, we will open the relevant files for further details and elaboration.â?

She said, â??What is that word?â?

I said:

The woman for us â?? and for the great founders of the U.S., as well as all the great and wise men of the world â?? is the mother of society, its source of stability, and the guardian of its security. The family is the basic unit in a sound structure of civic society, or it is rather the central institution of a civilized, secure society. The point where you and we part, Madam, began on the day you decided, contrary to the tradition of your forefathers and great men, to exclude the family institution from the institutions of civic society and on the day you replaced the family charter with social permissiveness, and based on this incidental cultural orientation of yours the principle of liberating women from their households, i.e. liberating them from the family culture into the no-family culture or the multi-family culture, and the related behavioral practices that are well-known to the members of this honorable delegation. As for us, we still insist to hold to the principle that the family, which has the woman as its mainstay and which is based on legal and legitimate marriage of a man and a woman, is the basic unit and central institution among the institutions of a civilized and secure civic society. It is even the basic unit in the structure of national security for our societies.

She asked, smiling, â??Do you want me to abandon my work at my countryâ??s national security council and go back to the family?â?

I said, â??No, but you and I, every man and woman, and the approach of every society, should observe a balanced relationship between the duties of every member of the family institution and those of other social institutions. We also have to believe that the first national security institution for every nation is the family. Other institutions and concerns that come next should be extensions of it that activate its sacred mission. They should never exist at the expense of its existence or its noble mission in society.â?

She said, â??Thank you. Your answer is sufficient, and what you have spoken about is truly a central and essential point of difference between your and our views of the family and society. It is worthy of being respected and contemplated. I believe what you have said is sufficient and there is no need to go into details, because they will most probably be based on this orientation, which I will faithfully report in my country.â?

It is worth mentioning that about a month after this interview, Mrs. Hillary Clinton wrote in her weekly column that used to appear in the Saudi daily Arab News a sentence that said, â??It is time for us in America to establish a balanced relationship between our duties in the family and in the other institutions of society.â?

In conclusion, I say the controversy over women and the family in the cultural circles of our Islamic societies is promoted by many factors, among the most prominent of which are

1.     the lack of a comprehensive and clear view of the jurisprudence (Fiqh) of the family and its role in building society and meeting its responsibilities;

2.     the lack of a clearly defined methodology that organizes the man and woman responsibilities in the family and society, and the failure to strike a delicate balance between the responsibilities of each in the family and in society;

3.     the faulty overlapping between the rules, values, and principles of the mission of women and the family on the one hand, and the mechanisms, controls, and ethics of practice and performance on the other;

4.     the unfortunate fact that many male and female Muslims are influenced by the ideas put forth by the other concerning women, the family, and society, without considering our cultural identity and distinctive characteristics;

5.     the dominant influence of customs and traditions in the way we deal with the questions of women, the family, and society, at the expense of our commitment to the values, principles, and ethics of our religion and its immortal divine mission;

6. The expansion of the tenet of precautious measures to an unreasonable extent, at the expense of the application of Islamic values, principles, and controls.

The crucial question in all this is the lack of a practical approach to introduce the family as a basic unit of the institutions of society and to allow it its official position in the structure of the state and its public institutions, so that it may enjoy its rights and perform its duties like any other institution of the state. With such an approach, man and woman would be responsible employees of the state within their house, in accordance with a comprehensive project and a strategy drawn by the state through a special ministry for family and social affairs. This would allow man and woman responsibilities in the family and in society to be regulated and would put into practice the great and noble divine rule:

Male and female believers are supporters of each other; they enjoin what is good and forbid what is wrong. They perform prayers, give out zakat, and obey God and His Messenger. Those are the ones who will receive Godâ??s mercy. God is Almighty and Wise (Al-Tawbah IX: 71).

Endometriosis is a well-known cause of female infertility. It is a condition involving misplaced endometrial tissue. This is the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus. When this tissue grows outside the uterus, and attaches to other organs in the abdominal cavity like the fallopian tubes and ovaries this is known as endometriosis. Endometriosis infertility can be a problem for many women.

Endometriosis is a progressive disease that can also reoccur even after treatment. Some of the most common symptoms are painful menstruation cycles, as well as abnormal pain and bleeding during or after intercourse.

The endometrial tissue outside the uterus responds to the hormones of the menstrual cycle in the same way as the tissue inside the uterus does. It thickens, swells and sheds. This suggests that a new cycle is beginning. The trouble is that blood shed from the endometrial tissue into the abdominal cavity has nowhere else to go. Therefore, pools of blood cause inflammation that forms scarring and eventually adhesions.

When scar tissue like this blocks the fallopian tubes it also interferes with ovulation as the egg cannot reach the uterus. Another side effect for many women is that ovarian cysts called endometrioma are formed. These cysts may also interfere with the woman’s ovulation, and thus her ability to get pregnant.

Endometriosis can effect fertility for the following reasons:

1. Women who have deep pain while having sex may want to have intercourse less often, therefore decreasing the chance of getting pregnant.

2. Scar tissue from endometriosis forms adhesions that can surround the ovaries, therefore restricting the ability of the surface area to hold the egg when the ovary releases it.

3. Adhesions that affect the fallopian tubes can also interfere with their ability in picking up the egg that has been released by the ovary, and then transferring it to the uterus.

4. Endometriosis disrupts the normal cycle of the ovaries in developing and releasing the egg.

5. The peritoneal fluid that can be found in women with endometriosis can have increased numbers of scavenging cells that can destroy ‘alien’ cells. Sperm cells can be targeted and fertilization becomes impossible.

There are ways for a woman to improve her fertility, but that is after she’s been properly diagnosed and received treatment. Generally women with endometriosis induced infertility undergo a surgical procedure known as laparoscopy to remove or vaporize any endometrial growths in the body.

Pregnancy rates that follow this treatment range from 35 to 65 %. Research also shows that women with mild or minimal endometriosis benefit from surgical and medical treatment, versus no treatment whatsoever.

1. Women can still increase their chances of getting pregnant a year or two years after the treatment. Doctors suggest that denazol be used alongside the surgical treatment. Pregnancy rates increase when this is done.

2. Natural therapies such as acupuncture, acupressure, aromatherapy, homeopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine among others, have proven successful for women with endometriosis who are trying to become pregnant.

3. Eating a healthy diet and taking exercise to boost the immune system and keep you body as nutritionally fit as possible can also improve changes of becoming pregnant once the reproductive organs have been repaired.

Vaginal candidiasis is a problem most women donâ??t want to talk about. But this yeast infection is very common and one in two women will have at least one attack during their lifetime.

Contrary to popular belief, the condition is not a sexually transmitted disease nor is it contracted during swimming but it can be caused by a number of organisms. The most common cause is a fungus called Candida albicans. This fungus normally inhabits a healthy vagina and is also found on the skin, the mouth, and intestines. But when it multiplies beyond control, the fungus can make you very uncomfortable.

Symptoms include vaginal burning, itching, and pain. The genital area is red and inflamed, and thereâ??s a thick vaginal discharge that smells like brewed yeast and looks like cottage cheese. These symptoms can vary in severity and are caused by the waste products of the rapidly multiplying Candida (or other) organisms.

Candida is found in a healthy vagina but its growth is controlled by the acidic environment there. However, several factors can disturb this environment and allow microorganisms to multiply rapidly and cause an infection. These include hormonal changes or fluctuations caused by high-dose contraceptives, menstruation, changes in weather, and stress. Recurrent yeast infections can also be a sign of other infections in the body or diabetes. Other contributing factors are excessive hygiene, a poor diet, and the use of certain antibiotics.

Although vaginal candidiasis is not a serious problem, it is often misunderstood and undiagnosed. Many women are embarrassed or ashamed to talk about it. This should not be the case since the infection can be effectively treated at home in privacy with an anti-fungal preparation.

When fungi invade the nails, the resulting infection is called onychomycosis or ringworm of the nails. This occurs in two to 18 percent of the population worldwide and is common in people over 60. Onychomycosis is often caused by fungi called dermatophytes which are responsible for 90 percent of cases. This leads to thickened, discolored, streaked or spotted nails.

To remedy this, use Somasin AFS, a safe and effective herbal formula that penetrates deep into the nails and surrounding tissues, and strengthens your immune system to restore your nailsâ?? healthy look and shine. Visit http://www.somasin.com today for details.

For many in our country, divorce is not a choice, but a tragedy that has struck and destroyed hope and happiness. Many people will be able to identify with more than the mere statistics, but also with the trauma associated with divorce.

The question is who suffers most when divorce occurs? The man, wife or the Children? Are you considering possible divorce or are you already facing this ugly monster? Possible living in little hell. It is hell when couples living under the same roof are not in harmony and peace. When quarrel and shouting becomes the order of the day. When the wife and husband maintain two different kitchens. When fear, suspicion, and insecurity becomes trade mark. “Widow Hood is far better than broken home”

Before considering divorce, look at the following:

1. Pause a bit and consider the first night both of you met. Remember the sweet moments both of you shared. There are always sweet memories in every marriage. Sweet memories are not always forgotten. 2. No matter how bad a person is (husband or wife) there is always a good aspect of that person. Take it or leave it your partner have affected your life in one way or the other. It is not always bad, bad, bad situation. That is why when people re-marry you still live to cast your mind back over some good moments. How do you feel when you set eyes on your ex husband or wife? You feel like coming together again. 3. Consider the emotional trauma your children will go through. Don’t sacrifice the joy and happiness of your children at the expense of your misunderstanding. Do you consider the happiness and security of any child when he or she stays happily with their parents? What an ugly atmosphere of loneliness when they cannot reach their mother or father? 4. Consider also the broken heart, confusion, lack of peace and fulfillment the woman will go through. 5. How are you sure that the next wife or husband you are going to marry will not even worst than the present one you are proposing to divorce. 6. The issue of marriage problem can only be best understood by both parties. Third party can never and will never understand the intricacies surrounding the relationship. During any wedding, people gather to celebrate with you but after the wedding you are left alone within the four corners of your room. What goes on within that room is best known or well understood by both of you.

It is only you can resolve the crisis. How? Drop your pride and see things the way it is. Don’t pretend it. Face the reality. Who suffers most? There is an adage that says “when two elephant fights it is the grass that suffers”. Everybody in that relationship suffers but the children and mother suffers most. The marriage can be healed no matter how sour it is. I know a doctor who specializes in healing broken lives, marriages, situations. If you can drop your pride and turn everything to this Doctor, he will bring back new life into the marriage. (John 2: 1-11).
The challenge of obtaining pregnant can for many be more difficult as opposed to it seems. In you’re your youth you may have kept on advised not to experience sex so as to avoid getting pregnant. Based on such it would be easy to jump to the conclusion the present sexual intercourse means pregnancy. So why now when you are having sex is this not happening? There are many factors that could be contributing to this issue so I am afraid there is no simple answer.

However that does not mean that there are not simple things you could be doing that may make a difference. One thing you will need to do is not stress out. While this is easy for me to say you are smart enough to know that stress will not help your cause. If you have been trying to get pregnant for some time you may want to look for support groups both online and offline so that you can discuss with others what steps you are taking when trying to get pregnant. Pregnancy Baby Boy

A problem shared is a problem halved and in discussing this issue with others you may realize that you are missing something that could make all the difference. The nest step is to address your diet. Are you eating healthy? Are you drinking enough water? Are you getting any exercise? Beyond this I am going to presume that you are charting your cycles so as to pinpoint ovulation correctly. So you will need to review this chart and make sure you are on target.

Beyond diet have you added any supplements to make sure you are getting the nutritional balance you need? During sexual intercourse are you using any lubricants and what sexual positions do you engage in. By the way do not use lubricants as they can kill sperm and the experts say that missionary position is best. Is you partner eating healthy and have either one of you visited a specialist to address the question of sperm count and fertility?

With increasing population pressure and modern independent lifestyles, procreation has become an option that is declined, or at least significantly restricted. But with these decisions women remove themselves from a natural biological role. Additionally, opting for synthetic milk formulas and treating the breast as an ornament, rather than a feeding organ, also disengages women from a natural biological function.

When these choices are coupled with the use of contraceptive hormones, hormone replacement therapy, an increasing load of estrogenic pollutants in the environment and food, and a diet that has veered significantly from its natural design, the formula for hormonal pandemonium, metabolic dysfunction and disease is in place. The results are manifest today in early menses in children (beginning as early as eight and nine years of age), infertility, abnormal and erratic menstrual cycles, cervical dysplasia, fibroids, endometrial cancer, breast cancer, premenstrual syndrome, dramatic mood swings, depression, osteoporosis, and the hot flashes, psychological problems, decreased libido, thinning of the vaginal wall and other symptoms of abnormal menopause.

If women would have as many children as they are capable of, nurse them for years as they are designed to, eat natural foods and live in a more pristine environment, these modern health problems would disappear. If money flowed out of our tap we wouldn’t have economic problems either, right? Nevertheless, although the ideal biological lifestyle may not be possible for any of us today, we can take a lesson and try to move our lives as close to the ideal as possible.

At present, the desire to eliminate or limit pregnancies is a personal choice. But it may one day not even be an option. We either curtail population growth or we will outstrip resources and be buried in our own refuse. Population is the engine that ultimately drives all environmental woes. We live on a finite planet with finite resources, but have an infinite ability to breed. We either live within the limits of Earth’s sustainable resources or we will destroy ourselves.

So we have a dilemma. As I will explain, women need to fulfill their reproductive role to achieve metabolic balance and health, but at the same time they do not want to be restricted by the burdens of large families, nor are large families socially or environmentally responsible.

In an attempt to solve this dilemma, women have turned to the quick fix of synthetic hormones. There are hormones to control conception, modulate abnormal menstrual cycles, for sex drive and to fix menopause. But there is no free lunch. Since the 1940’s, when estrogen therapy became popular, hundreds of thousands of women have succumbed to estrogen-sensitive cancer. For example, a woman is 13 times more likely to get endometrial cancer and there is a 30% increased risk of breast cancer by taking estrogen. The two top preventable breast cancer risks are now known to be oral birth control pills and estrogen replacement therapy.

Some women justify the use of estrogen for the putative benefits of decreased risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. But they have succumbed to marketing, not good sense. Proper exercise, diet and lifestyle choices can have the same beneficial effect without the potential consequence of cancer. But hey, why change lifestyle when all you need to do is take a pill?

Here’s what nature intended and why living in accordance with it is protective against the modern plague of female cancers. The average mom today chooses to give birth to about two infants. On the other hand, women in the primitive natural setting who may not even know what causes pregnancy or how to prevent it even if they wanted to, would have started menstruating and ovulating at age 12 and would have delivered 9 babies and breast-fed them all. When they did breastfeed, they did so for up to five or more years. Pregnancy stops the reproductive hormone cycles (that generate estrogen) since there is room in the uterus for only one pregnancy. Nursing also stops the cycle because the body “knows” that lactation and caring for an infant is about all one body can endure.

This means that the modern woman who has only two children would reproductively cycle and ovulate 438 times during her lifetime. On the other hand, the combination of more numerous pregnancies along with extended breast-feeding would have decreased the number of ovulations and cycles that a primitive mother would have had to about 9.

This means that women today cycle through their menstrual periods an abnormal number of times, causing repeated surges of estrogen–about 50 times more than nature intended. Little wonder that estrogen sensitive cancers abound in our modern world. The cancer-estrogen link is also proven by the fact that such cancers in humans and animals are decreased if the estrogen generating ovaries are surgically removed. (I am just making a point, not advocating the procedure since the absence of estrogen creates problems as well.)

The resting periods of lower estrogen that women experienced in the pre-modern setting during pregnancy and lactation served as a protective effect against cancer. (Women today can even dramatically decrease their risk of breast cancer by nursing their young for even as little as two years.) Additionally, the fresh foods of the natural diet contain compounds known as phytoestrogens. These plant estrogenic compounds are able to attach to estrogen receptor sites in the body and prevent the stronger ovarian estrogens from attaching to tissues. However, the phytoestrogens only exert a mild estrogenic effect and even inhibit oncogene (tumor genes) expression and thus are not cancer promoting. This is the logic behind plant-based nutritional supplements (nutraceuticals) to help women with estrogenic problems and cancer prevention.

Hormones are master regulators of body function. They cannot be manipulated either by lifestyle choices or medications without serious consequences. Women do well to think of their genetic heritage and try to live life as close to that as possible if health is the goal.
