My son is a hopeless romantic. But it seems like every woman he becomes involved with is a single parent. In order to understand where a single mother is coming from, my son has done a great deal of research for articles on single parenting. Never having been a parent himself, he needed to understand what a good parent is. So he needs to ensure that he can understand the point of view of a single parent.
He found a lot of articles on single parenting on-line, as well as in magazines. He has diligently read articles on the single mother, the single father, and single parenting in general. He has learned a great deal about different strategies of discipline, rewarding, training good manners and inducing a good positive mental attitude on the children’s part, while understanding that the mother or parent will have the greatest influence and of course the final word.
Studying articles on single parenting has been a real eye-opener for an unmarried man. It has given him a great deal to think about in how to deal with not only the children but the mother as well. He seen articles that tell of mistakes men have made trying to be too authoritative concerning the kids without considering their mother’s point of view. He learned that this authoritative attitude generates conflicts between the children and the two adults.
There is a balance that an outsider has to pay attention to in order to get along with not only the children but the parent. The outsider always has to remember that he isn’t the parent, but can learn to be a parent substitute if the situation is handled correctly. Articles on single parenting are very informative on how to achieve this balance without causing resentment with either the natural parent or the children.
Another element that my son discovered by reading these articles on single parenting was how perceptive a child can be concerning your sincerity or lack thereof. If you are going to complement a child on anything, it better be sincere because children of any age know when it’s not.
The great thing about researching articles on single parenting is that they can be shared with a single parent as well as the outsider considering getting involved. It’s amazing the things a single parent can learn about single parenting that they never knew. After all, no parent ever plans to be a single parent. And so these articles on single parenting can be quite enlightening to the single mother or father.
You can find articles on single parenting covering such topics as: “Lonely Single Parents,”"Single Moms over 40 or Under 40,”"Dating for the Single Parent,”"Budgeting for Single Parents,” and How to Locate Single Parent Support Groups.” You name it, you can find it. These are but a few of the article types you can find on single parenting.
